Columbus-based-Singer-songwriter Franc Aledia achieved international acclaim when he co-wrote and co-produced the single, LEGEND OF THE SPEEDWAY for racing legend A.J. Foyt. The song served as the soundtrack to the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500 and itʼs tribute honoring A.J. Foytʼs 50 YEARS OF OPEN WHEEL RACING. I AM INDY written by Gene Simmons was the only other song endorsed by the IRL and the Indy 500 that year and both songs were featured on radio and television stations worldwide. The LEGEND OF THE SPEEDWAY video made both music and sports history and was featured on ABC, ESPN and SPEEDTv. He performed the song live at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of the Indy 500 Live Concert lineup which included Kid Rock, Daughtry and Saliva in front of 55,000 plus and an international TV audience. Aledia also appeared in the IPO parade with Kenny Brack, Gene Simmons, Peyton Manning, Patrick Dempsey, A.J. Foyt and Danica Patrick. The album was released on the Late Show with David Letterman.
Since then, Aledia has shared credits with some of the biggest names in the music industry such as Bernie Grundman (Michael Jackson's "Thriller", Prince's "Purple Rain"), Willie Pevear (Johnny Cash), Peter Keppler (David Bowie) and Rob Chiarelli (Madonna, Will Smith). He toured the U.S for 3 years straight while on the BMG circuit sharing the stage with Zac Brown Band, Billy Bob Thornton, Lit, All American Rejects and Brett Michaels and he is currently working on a new album due out this summer.
